3. Basic idea
• The Blimp is a zeppelin, on which a vertical
wind wheel is fixed
• In a high of 500m is the wind very strong and
blows permanent
 you can produce more electricity
• It don‘t needs a mast, so it‘s cheaper and
better to transport

4. First designs
• Round zeppelin with a wind tunnel
• Problem:
• Complex to form the zeppelin
• Efficiency depends on the wind direction

5. First Blimp
• Cylinder as body,
cone as roof
• Problems:
– Form is too complex,
isnt airtight

6. Second Blimp
• Typical zeppelin form
• Two foils glued on each other
• No Problems, very airtight

7. The windwheel
• Vertical wind wheel
 independence from
wind direction
• Fixed with a
styropor bar

8. The generator
• Problems:
– Generator must be very light, with just a few turns
per minute
