NASA will award five companies - including those from Russia, China, Europe, India, and Japan - $100 billion each to design and build the next generation of space shuttles, space stations, and other spacecraft. This will total $12.9 trillion awarded by January 31, 2021. SpaceX will retire from flights to the International Space Station in 2021 as the new space programs begin.
