Though small in size, Jamaican culture has had a significant global influence through the development and popularity of musical genres like reggae, ska, mento, rocksteady, dub, dancehall and ragga. These genres originated in Jamaica's vibrant music industry. Reggae also influenced the development of punk rock and American rap music, which both share African rhythmic roots. Internationally renowned reggae musician Bob Marley helped spread Jamaican music worldwide. The island also has distinctive national symbols and foods, and attracts tourists to places like Dunn's River Falls and the former home of Annie Palmer.
