The Chicago Spire was a planned supertall skyscraper in downtown Chicago that was never completed. It was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava and was planned to be 2,000 feet tall with 150 floors. Construction began in 2007 but was halted in 2008 due to financing issues and the project was officially cancelled in 2014.
