2. Objective
Advanced maternal age has a high risk of fetal vascular
malperfusion causing uteroplacental dysfunction and disrupting
nutrient and oxygen transport
Advanced maternal age describes a pregnancy where the birthing
person is generally considered to be 35 years or older. It has
become a common occurrence in both developed and developing
countries over the last few decades

4. Methods
• This study is a retrospective case control study.
• The sample in this study were 70 pregnant women aged 35 years
or older as the study sample and 70 pregnant women aged 20-34
years as controls
• We exclude mothers with a history of anemia, diabetics,
infections, and preeclampsia during pregnancy.
• The statistical test use the chi square test by calculating the
significance. The level of confidence is determined p = 0.05 with
95% Confident Interval. If the p value < 0.05 then the research
hypothesis is accepted

8. Conclusion
The results of this study indicate that there is a significant correlation
between advanced maternal age and low birth weight
