2. BASIS
Оne of Russia's tоp priоrities has been tо maintain its key rоle in the
former Soviet space, including Central Asia region, achievement of
this strategic objective is directly related to developing military
cooperation.
Military cooperation
Interaction in the protection of air space
Cooperation on border security
The interaction of special and law
enforcement bodies
3. MILITARY COOPERATION WITHIN
CIS FORMAT
Collapse of the Soviet Union destroyed once the
unified system of defense against external aggression
and threats.
From the first months of Commonwealth of
Independent States (CIS) it was confronted with the
protection issue of new state formations of the
potential and real external threats.
CIS states themselves seem more and more "drift" in
different directions.

protocol-sounding statements on them, the executive structures
established in the CIS format, their common task of building a
viable security system was not completed.
