Ppd arts and letters red carpet events
1. On Sunday, August 28, 2016, the Arts and Letters Committee of Suburban Houston Fort Bend
Alumnae Chapter hosted a Red Carpet event for the movie “Southside With You”. This
inspiring movie is about the first date of President Barak Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama
before they made it to the White House. The event was held at First Colony AMC Theater
located at 3301 Town Centre Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479. Since Barack and Michelle
shared their first kiss outside an ice cream parlor, we followed suit and enjoyed a scoop or two
of ice cream after the movie to discuss our favorite parts and to socialize at MaggieMoo’s Ice
Cream Parlor located at 15940 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land, TX 77479.
2. We dusted off our cowboy boots, put on our hats and western wear and show up at the
Red Carpet event for THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN movie on Saturday, September 24, 2016.
The SHFBAC Arts and Letters Committee was excited to re-live this 1960's western classic
story of a town's residents who enlisted the help of seven outlaws to protect them while
they prepared for a violent confrontation. The movie viewing was held at Star Cinema
Movie Grill located at 4811 Hwy 6, Missouri City, TX 77459. Before the movie, we all met
at Old Hickory Inn Barbeque restaurant in Missouri City (3334 FM 1092 -Murphy Road,
Missouri City, TX 77459) to socialize and chow down on some good food.
3. Suburban Houston Fort Bend Alumnae Chapter’s Arts and Letters Committee had a sisterly good
time and enjoyed socializing with chapter members and chowing down on good food at Mikki’s
Café before premiering the movie Birth of a Nation. The event was held on October 15, 2016 at
AMC Lowes Fountain 18 (11225 Fountain Lake Dr., Stafford, TX 77477). Great movie and
good food was enjoyed by all.
Suburban Houston Fort Bend Alumnae Chapter put on our Santa hats to get into the spirit of the
season to view the movie Almost Christmas, hosted
by the Arts and Letters Committee. The movie tells
the festive story of a beloved patriarch who asks his
family for one gift this holiday season: to get along. If
they can honor that wish and spend five days under
the same roof without killing one another, it will be a
Christmas miracle. The Red Carpet Event was held on
November 13, 2016 at AMC First Colony: 3301 Town
Centre Blvd. South, Sugar Land, TX 77479.
