This document provides tips for designing PowerPoint presentations with less than 10 words per slide. It recommends using key phrases and pictures to replace words where possible, knowing the material well so as not to rely heavily on on-screen text, and keeping important text large enough to be seen from the back of the room, leaving more space for large pictures and ensuring the audience pays attention to the presenter rather than reading slides.

• Choose key words/phrases only – these will “trigger” or
remind you of what you want to say>> use pictures to
replace words as much as possible
• Know your material so you aren’t relying on the text on
screen
• WHY??? Now the important things are big enough to see
from the back of the room, you have more space for big
pictures, and people in the audience will pay closer attention
to what you are saying instead of reading the screen!
