Most cities have different form of
public transportation. Buses are a
common form of public transportation.
They share the road with other traffic.
They pick up and drop off passengers at
specific places called bus stops. Most
city buses can carry about seventy
people.
Many cities have rail systems. Electric
trains run under the ground or on
elevated tracks. These trains can have
from one to ten cars and each car can
carry up to one hundred passengers.
Some cities have trams or cable car.
These run on tracks along the city
streets. Old trams were noisy and slow,
but modern trams are quite,
comfortable and fast.
