The Vall de Núria valley is located in the Pyrenees mountains in Girona, Spain. It contains a 10-track ski resort that is famous for skiing and attracts many school groups. The only ways to access the valley are by foot or via the Rack Railway, a train that climbs the mountain. The valley is also home to the Sanctuary of Núria, which houses a historic wooden painting of the Virgin Mary.

Vall de Núria is a valley located in the
Pyrenees, in the province of Girona.
There aren’t any roads to access the valley.
You can arrive by foot or using the Rack
Railway (Tren Cremallera in catalan).
There are a ski resort, with 10 ski tracks.

3. Vall de Núria in winter
Vall de Núria is famous because his ski resort, and
his 10 ski tracks of different levels. I’m going with
my school next week for skiing. We’re all really
excited!

4. Sanctuary of Núria
There are a sanctuary too, of the Virgin of Núria.
According the tradition, Saint Giles hid a wooden
painting of the Virgin, and much later, a pilgrim found it.
Then, he brought it to the chapel to be venerated.

5. The Rack Railway
• One of the most famous things from Vall the Núria is
the way of access: the Rack Railway. We call it “Tren
cremallera”, and it’s a little train that goes upon the
mountain.
