This document contains a portfolio of designs for various spaces including a performance pavilion between Chinatown and a financial district inspired by Chinese screens, a natatorium in an arboretum designed to mimic the layers of trees, a sun shade for an office made of recycled materials, an art gallery for a vineyard that shifts with the building pattern, and a dance studio with glass walls allowing views from both sides.
This portfolio document summarizes Jacob Doyle's architectural projects. It describes drawings he created of a household object and a building facade, as well as models exploring points/lines/planes and defining moments from a video. It also summarizes a project involving twisting tin foil to create a landscape and structure, and another focusing on connecting nodes in a tectonic landscape. Finally, it summarizes a case study Jacob did on Rem Koolhaas's Maison a Bordeaux house.
MBS Prestige, a luxury building contractor, was approached to renovate a property in central Belgravia. [1] They worked closely with the client and architect to remodel the three mews properties into an open plan home maximizing space and light. [2] A sophisticated finish using dark polished granite, bespoke joinery, and metallic finishes created an intimate yet unique environment. [3] The client was extremely pleased with the finished home and decided to make it their permanent residence, instructing MBS Prestige on further projects.
The portfolio showcases the author's design work from Clemson University and Gavin & Sullivan Architects. It includes a student housing project in Genoa, Italy that features a sloping cable garden and mix of room styles. It also features a community learning center in Brooklyn with science labs and offices under 6,000 square feet. The author is currently pursuing a Master's in Architecture at Clemson and held summer internships at Gavin & Sullivan Architects.
Halle M. Yaeger is a landscape architectural designer with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a minor in City & Regional Planning. The document provides summaries of 14 projects she has worked on ranging from park designs, corridor studies, food hub plans, and sustainable farming proposals. The projects showcase her skills in site analysis, concept development, design documentation, and communication through plans, sections, renderings, diagrams and models.
The wine museum concept uses vines as architectural elements to create spaces and paths. The rhythm of the vine rows is carried through the buildings, reflecting the dimensions and porous structure of vines. Public spaces are located along a central axis, with wine production organized in a U-shape around the periphery. Dark and light, cool and warm spaces juxtapose to mirror the winemaking process.
Terry Brock, the Campus Archaeologist at Michigan State University, teaches ANP 203-002H Introduction to Archaeology. The class covers the study of human culture through material remains from both historic and prehistoric periods. As Campus Archaeologist, Brock works to protect MSU's cultural resources during construction projects by conducting archaeological surveys and controlled excavations. Five excavation sites were chosen along Faculty Row based on maps from the MSU archives to learn how the landscape changed over time and what daily life was like on Faculty Row. Archaeological findings like wooden water pipes, bottle glass, and bricks provided information about artifact dates, production locations, and how far materials traveled as the campus expanded.
Kevin Kroen provides his contact information and summaries of projects he has worked on including:
1) The Big Well Tourism Center in Greensburg, Kansas which showcased a local landmark through sustainable design features like permeable paving and solar panels.
2) A redesign of streets in downtown Wichita, Kansas to improve pedestrian access and circulation around a new central town square.
3) A mixed use development project in Wind Haven that involved grading plans, road alignments, and storm drainage design.

1) The telecommunications market in Spain has reached maturity with little room for growth, forcing companies to engage in price wars that are unsustainable and reducing profits.
2) Customers now value low prices and free phones over quality and are educated to seek the best deals, not long-term relationships with providers.
3) For telecommunications companies to generate sustainable customer pools, they must differentiate by transforming from voice/text service providers to companies that deliver valuable content and capabilities through advanced, customer-driven applications.

Fallout: New Vegas is an action-adventure, role-playing game set 200 years after a nuclear war in a post-apocalyptic Western United States. The game's introduction establishes the setting, mood, and narrative through dialogue between two characters, as the narrator discusses how the player character will change history after being shot in the head. Production techniques like voice acting and dialogue were used to create specific soundtrack elements in the game's introduction that set the scene and backstory.

4. This natatorium is
for public use in the
Arnold Arboretum.
The concept behind
this building was
inspired by the layers
of the arboretum. The
facade mimics the
arboretum by allow-
ing most of the light
to come from the top.
As a visitor or athlete
to this building you
can experience each
layer both indoors and
outdoors.

6. In groups, we were chal-
lenged to create a shading
device for a hallway in our
department that catches a
lot of afternoon sun. Our
design was to use rotating
panels that could manipu-
late the light. The final built
piece was constructed of
recycled cardboard boxes &
newspaper, scraps of colored
acetate, dowels, and rubber
bands, keeping our project
green. Our design created
a modern stained glass feel
allowing for diffused light.

7. This building is sited on
a fairly steep slope in a
unknown vineyard. The
design process began
with the vineyard as well
as the building. Both the
vineyard and the building
shaped each other. The
building’s dimensions
reflect the pattern and
system of the vineyard.
Later in the design, the
building shifts in this pat-
tern forcing the vineyard
to shift as well.
art gallery
8. This is designed as a gallery to
house a painting and a sculp-
ture. The two separate boxes
each have one light feature to
reflect the choice of painting

9. While the building isn’t very
big, the visitors follow a
fairly long linear path. They
shift direction as the build-
ing shifts, both in plan and
in section, making note of
your change in functional-
ity. The vineyard interacts
with the building through
the seasons as the vines will
grow strong up the lattice in
the front of the building to
shade it in the warm sum-
mer and allow the southern
sun to shine through in the
winter.

10. This building was designed
to function as a series of
studio spaces for the Anti
Gravity dance team in
Boston’s North End. Anti
Gravity has a unique style of
dance, in which they use un-
usual tools to allow them to
have a very new urban style.
This piece was designed
to be a box inside a glass
box, to allow for a perfor-
mance to be seen from both
sides. The performance of
the dancers, and the perfor-
mance of the everyday city.
dance studio
11. The buildings core runs
along the left hand side of
the building, acting as a
noise barrier to the rest of
the North End. The more
public programmatic pieces
run through the center of
the horizontal circulation.
People can walk around all
of the studio spaces and
have selected points where
they can get a peak of what
is going on inside. Other
times, people can only see
the silhouette of the dancers
through frosted glass panels.
