Kondang Merak Performance Research is an art exhibition and
talkshow conducted by researchers and a performance research
team to disseminate environmental problems in Kondang Merak
Beach through art exhibition. Selecting the name of the event is
Kondang Merak Performance Research based on the setting of the
scene of natural destruction and introducing Kondang Merak
Beach to the public. Researchers collaborate with several art
communities such as photography and painting to produce works
that present Kondang Merak, poems depicting the destruction of
nature on Kondang Merak Beach, a monologue representing
fishermen who use fish catcher with destructive methods, mini
museums, documentaries, and music to improve student sensitivity
to environmental awareness. The second set of performances was
an ecotourism trip involving participants to engage directly in the
process of coral reef conservation, discuss with local people, and
also make donations for “Sampah Terpadu” development as desired
by kondang merak society.
