This portfolio document contains summaries of Giovanni C Halim's design projects. It includes projects on lighting design inspired by lotus flowers, habitat design based on a small laneway in Sydney, textile design experimenting with thread and paint patterns, an advertisement drawing of an eagle for Ford Mustang, a monument design representing education, an interactive "fish tank" art project for children based on Finding Nemo, a paper sculpture project demonstrating principles of art, and a stop-motion animation retelling an Indonesian folktale using clay figures. The portfolio contains images and brief descriptions of each of these design works.

Clinical Biometrics, Inc. Executive Overview
Description Clinical Biometrics is an organization dedicated to enabling predictive healthcare and disease prevention with the IoT. We are working on the IoT (Internet of Things) wireless, biomedical patient monitoring and vendor agnostic integration, pioneering programmable biosensors, integration products and services to monitor secure clinical data in real-time and over time, for inpatient and outpatient environments. Our model enables predictive and preventative healthcare delivery. We are developing vendor agnostic middleware that will allow the integration of the various vendor's sensors and protocols into a common platform with rich data analytics capabilities. This technology will impact our healthcare paradigms and usher us into the future of healthcare delivery including real-time predictive healthcare and disease prevention.

Presentation coimbra eco island amager 300514 picturesOleg Koefoed
This is a presentation I gave with architect Stine Avlund at the Culture Mapping conference in Coïmbra, Portugal, on May 30th, 2014. The Eco Island Amager project started from a "horisontal" perspective, seeking to involve people without closing too many doors from the outset. This means it moves slowly, in a gentle zig-zag motion towards considering how Amager, part of a large city, could become "eco" - yes even how it could become an island. You can read more about the project here: http://ecoislandamager.dk - or ask me!

A presentation on how arts and crafts can engage your community; transform your street and create something new from something old. This supports the talk given by Jeni Lewitt at the Eden Project, as part of the Big Lunch Extras programme. Jeni is part of the Big Lunch Extras team and has worked within 'community-based' projects at the Eden Project for over three years. Find out more about Big Lunch Extras at www.biglunchextras.com
4. HABITAT
The model is inspired by “The Meeting Place” (Derlot,
Herbert & Mason) in Sydney’s Little Hunter Street. It
narrows down further a tiny laneway in the city to force
strangers walking through the lane to interact with each
other while gaining passage and meeting in the process.
The idea was to encompass the direction of the wind that
is coming through the laneway. It is also at the same time
picturing seashells rolling down from the higher elevat-
ed end of the urban corridor, to further encourage the
flow of movement and energy.
The laneway itself is used for many purposes such as
disabled access to the Melbourne Jail, shortcut to an-
other building, and shelter from rain and wind. There is
a rooftop under the laneway that joined the two buildings
together.
5. TEXTILES
This project requires an experimentation of material application as wall covering. Threads and paint were then
decided to be used to make a repeat pattern with a depth of texture. This project aims to explore 3D and 2D de-
signs and to also develop understanding of Textiles Design. The creation of pattern and the texture was inspired
from Indonesian Batik - a form of art on woven fabric applied and used for household items and wearables.
6. Hand drawn using copic
markers, this artwork
was made for Ford Mus-
tang advertisement - an
American brand.
The eagle was to repre-
sent the pride and sym-
bol of America, which
was why decided to
represent the advertised
car as the pride of the
country

7. MONUMENT
THE BOOK OF EDUCATION.
This monument represents Education to all
people in the world. The colours of the small
man-figures represent the Olympic Flags
which symbolises the goodwill, togetherness
and friendship.
The Tree of Life represents the Earth. The small
humans that are reaching their hands up are
already educated and know how to respect the
Earth and surroundings. This monument aims
to make people understand on how important
education is to every living human in the world.
8. INTERACTIVE
Interactive art is a form of art that involves the audience in a way that allows the art to achieve
its purpose. This project aims to develop an understanding of the importance of considering
the user/viewer and how they will interact with the finished design.
“THE FISH TANK” is an interactive object that aims to attract children. The simple language
behind the design, the bright colour attracts children to play and with the controlled move-
ment, children can play safely. The colour and idea of the the fish tank is based on the movie
“Finding Nemo”.
9. PAPER.SCULPTURE
This project shows the 5 principles
of art, such as, emphasis, contrast,
movement, balance and repeti-
tion. Using the media of paper, paper
sculptures were made to represent
these 5 principles.
10. STOP.MOTION
In this project, Stop Motion animation allows me to experience multiple roles and take part in
many areas of the design and video production processes. By creating a storyboard to iden-
tify how the story will flow before I produce the artwork and begin the animation process in
AfterEffects.
My animation is re-telling an Indonesian folktale called The Golden Cucumber. Clay and paint-
ed backgrounds were used to re-create the stop-motion scenes which were later taken by a
digital camera.
