A new 42 unit attached condominium project in the city of Dexter, Michigan. The design includes an open floor plan concept with inviting front porches and private covered patios. Craftsman bungalow style was selected to reflect the charming existing homes built in the 1920's that surround the downtown area.
Riverside Friendship Senior Center
David Boersma, Architect of Record for Spicer Group was commissioned to create a new 6,000 sq.ft. commercial kitchen addition to the Riverside Friendship Senior Center in Bay City, MI for the Division on Aging meals program. The project created a much needed modern kitchen for the Division on Aging staff as well as several improvements to the Senior Center and Bay County Community Center.

The Orchards Golf Club Clubhouse Renovations
This project consisted of design services for a new clubhouse and pavilion for the Orchards Golf Course. Working closely with Mr. Dalby, the building renovation designs included a new welcome center, locker Rooms, offices, lounge and a golf cart garage in a lower level.
Garber Chevrolet Addition
Utilizing new corporate branding elements, Spicer Group gave the exterior of the existing dealership a facelift which adding on much needed showroom and customer lounge space. Other interior improvements included the reorganization of space for sales and accounting staff offices, new staff locker rooms and new customer restrooms.
Chevy in the Hole Redevelopment
Uptown Development commissioned Spicer Group for a redevelopment study of the "Chevy in the Hole" site... formerly Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing. The study included conceptual site design remediation studies and conceptual & schematic architectural design low income housing for this brownfield site located along the Flint River in the Downtown area of the City of Flint.
Future OU HHB Health Sciences Lab
Health Sciences School new 2,400 square foot nutrition lab space in the OU Health Sciences Building.
Contains six new student kitchen lab areas utilizing high-end residential equipment
- Microwave

- Dishwasher
Includes an instructor commercial grade kitchen area that includes:
- Dry storage
- Walk-in cooler
- Prep area
- Cooking line with hood
- Washing area
- Fully OCHD compliant for food preparation
Contains open flex space that may be configured for group study, classroom instruction and demonstration.
• Incorporate student coat and backpack/bag storage.
• The space needs to be attractive yet durable.
• The space will integrate wireless IT technologies as well as A/V instruction aids
St Louis Municipal Building
Serving as the project manager and architect for the renovation of a former retail building to create new municipal offices and police station for the city of St. Louis. The project included structural evaluation of the existing structure, space planning, and will include roof reconstruction, window and door replacement, new casework, new ceilings, new interior and exterior lighting, new telecommunication equipment, new mechanical and electrical systems, offices, file storage systems, police specific spaces, lobby, community rooms, restrooms as well as completely new interior finishes throughout.
Akron Township Hall
Served as the project manager and architect for the renovation of an abandoned restaurant in Unionville, MI to create a new township hall for Akron Township. The project included structural evaluation of the existing structure, an addition, mechanical and electrical systems, new parking, window and door replacement, new casework, new ceilings, new interior and exterior lighting, restrooms as well as completely new interior finishes.
New Akron Township Hall
A former restaurant building will be renovated along with an addition to create a new Township hall for Akron Township. The building is centrally located in Unionville, MI. Construction is scheduled to begin spring 2015 and completed by fall.
St Louis, MI New Munipal Building
The adaptive reuse of a former retail store into a new City Hall for St. Louis "Middle of the Mitten" MI. The facility will take advantage of it's river front location offering a waterside patio. In addition the building will be the new home of the St Louis Police Department as well as City Administration Staff. A new large platform community space and council meeting room will also be included within the building. The residents of St Louis will be able to use the building for meetings of groups as small as twenty to as large as 150.
The Cascades
Spicer Group is aiding Jackson, MI with the future vision of Casade Falls. This engineering and water wonder has entertained people for generations. With the restoration and moderization, it will be an attraction for years to come!
Greendale Township Hall
Spicer Group is very happy to present the new Greendale Township Hall. Many people who frequent M20 may recognize this as the former Pleasentview Elementary School - built in 1958 and abandoned in the 1980's. Along with the help of J.R. Heinemann and Sons, we were able to bring new life into this building and save it for the future generations of Greendale Township residents.
Proposed Bath Township Senior Center
Proposed Expansion of the Bath Township Senior Center....
This expansion will allow Bath Township to accomodate more activities while improving building access. The exterior will also recieve a face lift and provide sheltered areas along the exterior of the building.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power System
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Advancements in technology unveil a myriad of electrical and electronic breakthroughs geared towards efficiently harnessing limited resources to meet human energy demands. The optimization of hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems plays a pivotal role in utilizing natural resources effectively. This initiative not only benefits humanity but also fosters environmental sustainability. The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.
