Samsung commissioned a design consulting firm to develop new product concepts and prototypes for devices to be released in 2012. The firm analyzed trends in small device usage and suggested concepts based on scenarios of converged home appliances, communication devices, and navigation systems. Prototypes and presentations were created to share the concepts and ideas with Samsung's design and marketing teams.

Samsung Context-aware Devices / 2007 - 2008 Background: Design Strategy Group in UI Lab of Samsung Electronics needed to develop new product design concepts, implementation guides, and prototypes to produce Y2012 target future devices. Key Issues : We, as a design consulting firm, had to figure out the trend changes of small devices usages according to platform evolution of web 2.0 technology. We developed use scenarios which projected the convergences of home appliances - hand held communication devices, navigation system-mobile communication devices for personal casting behaviors. Based on the use scenarios, we suggested device concepts, and offered prototype and movie presentations which explained the product strategy, and market insights. The presentation was introduced among design and marketing stakeholders in Samsung Electronics in the purpose of new product concept sharing and idea generation. Olalog Design Research / 2007 Background : in the purpose of providing interaction design strategy, we offered provision on service innovation in the areas of mobile to web, photo-blogging, and convergences. Key Issues : We needed to suggest a method that helped the effective communication between users, and designers, and between developers and designer, so that they can exchange their experiences and ideas. We focused on the rapid prototyping method that reflected rapid and core needs to the service design. Samsung FX 2015 Projection / 2006 Background : Future Experience Lab provided implementation guides and prototypes to CNB (Creating New Business) Group in Samsung Electronics to help their future device concept development. Key Issues : The adaptation of Wibro environment will effect the electronic device usages and interaction behaviors. We simulated the changes for the each age groups, social classes, and contexts. It was highly influenced by life style research methods that focused on functions and experiences correlations and calibrating them.
