Using Our New Plant Care Sharing System as a Marketing Tool on www.theMulch.com The Mulch brings gardening experts and everyday gardeners together to easily share information .We are an online gardening community where gardeners and their plants are at the center of a social network like Facebook, but instead of connecting friends, we connect members by the specific plants they’re interested in and the plant care they are receiving. 
Our main focus at the Mulch, is to provide a place for each individual home gardener to be able to create a personalized regional plant care calendar, specifically for the plants in their garden, from experts that they trust (that can be you).  At this point, it’s more about WHEN to do things in the garden, and not as much HOW.
Here’s an example of a member’s profile on www.theMulch.com  Each member (individual or company) gets their own profile page to create  a personalized list of plants they own, wish they had, recommend, are having trouble with, or even plants you’ve killed ! Promote yourself or your gardening company with links, Twitter feeds, rss feeds, photos, Plant Care Reminders and much more.
At www.theMulch.com we‘ve developed a FREE system to take YOUR plant care knowledge and send it to interested gardeners in the form of monthly reminders. Get new customers, clients or club members or make your existing clients very happy simply by leveraging your existing knowledge about plants.  Our new Plant Care Sharing System lets you EASILY create regional care instructions, for the plants you're familiar with and get them delivered at THE APPROPRIATE TIME, directly to interested gardeners.
Move into the 21st Century of Social Media - Instead of a home gardener having to search out plant care information, it’s sent directly to them. Our system lets you turn your existing plant care sheets, plant care tips, or monthly gardening calendars into interactive social media.  Each month’s plant care tasks are automatically sent to the members’ profile page with the plants they’re interested in. All a member has to do is go to their personal profile and see what each plant care provider is telling them to do (that could be you). In the near future we’ll be sending email reminders to each member to check their plant care page. This will include promoting new regional plant care.  This is an extremely targeted marketing opportunity !

Let’s be conservative and assume there is an average of 3 tasks per month, per plant, that could legitimately be mentioned.
That would mean that each plant would have 36 incredibly targeted “advertisements” or branding opportunities per year.
Therefore, if you created just 100 different plants worth of plant care, it would create 3600 well received opportunities to put your brand in front of your target audience per year.
Or another way of looking at it - If we can get 1000 people to take any one or combination of your plant care reminders, it will equal 36,000 advertisements that gardeners are actually happy to see.

It includes your logo and business name, a link to your profile and promotional text about your business and plant care philosophy. Members simply click the “USE” button and the plant care instructions are sent directly to their “My Plant Care” page each month! You can create plant care for different USDA or Sunset climate zones. Click the yellow flower to view the month by month plant care instructions for that plant. A complete list of available plant care you’ve created. Online gardening community where gardeners and their plants are at the center of a social network like MySpace or Facebook that connects members by the specific plants they’re interested in. The Mulch brings gardening experts and everyday gardeners together to easily share information in an unbiased setting.

Example of the View all plant care page Any visitor to pick a month, pick a climate zone, a gardening task, and a plant care provider (that can be you) and quickly see what they should be doing this month in their garden. This is a another great opportunity to get your name and expertise in front of home gardeners. In this example, a visitor chose to see what Steve Brigham says to fertilize in September in Sunset zone 24. Gardeners can select any or ALL plant care providers. The results are shown below. This page is a new feature, in the near future members will be able to easily “USE” any plant care by clicking a button here.
