The Plantation Labour Act of 1951 establishes rules for annual leave, health and welfare, working hours and conditions, and employment of children for workers in the plantation industry. Key provisions include allowing one day of paid annual leave for every 20 days worked by adults and 15 days for young people, up to a maximum of 30 days. Employers must also provide accessible medical facilities and housing for workers as prescribed by state governments.
