Melanie Pittman is a junior at Texas Tech University majoring in Political Science with minors in Economics and Arabic. She was born in Texas City, Texas in 1991 and attended Santa Fe High School where she was captain of the drill team and mentored at-risk children. At Santa Fe High School, she was also a member of the National Honor Society and was named Student of the Month. She has worked several jobs focusing on customer service and hopes to work as a policy analyst after graduating from Texas Tech University a year early in May 2013.
