I graduated high school with honors and attended Texas Tech University where I made the Dean's List my first three semesters. I pledged Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and was later elected to an officer position. I also joined the junior varsity polo team after learning to play as a junior. I have since pursued a degree in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies in order to attend law school and become a licensed attorney in Texas.
3. College
I graduated high school with
honors and was accepted
into Texas Tech University
and began classes in the Fall
of 2009.
I made the Dean’s List my first
three semesters, and received
accolade into two honor
societies at the end of my
freshman year.
4. Alpha Kappa Psi
During the Spring
Semester of my freshman
year, I pledged the world’s
most esteemed business
professionalism fraternity.
One year later, I was
elected to the officer
position in charge of
fraternity intramurals and
rituals.
5. Collegiate Polo
My junior year, I learned how
to play “The Sport of Kings”.
After one semester of
instruction, I now play on
Tech’s junior varsity
team, and took the position
of Club Captain.
6. Political Science
After my basics, I
began pursuing my
degree of choice in
Texas Tech’s College of
Arts and Sciences.
Since high school, I have
had a strong interest in
government, and declared
a major in Political Science
my junior year.
7. Courses Taken
I have completed 73
hours of Political
Science and Legal
Studies Courses to
date.
These include Deductive
Logic and Ethics, and many
Political Science courses
including Asian
Governments, International
Political Economy, Political
Parties, and Latin American
Governments.
8. Legal Studies and Law School
Before declaring my major, I
decided to select a minor in
Legal Studies in addition to
the Pre-Law program.
Shortly after graduation, I plan
on going to law school in order
to become barred in the state of
Texas.
9. Holiday Inn Express
My first job in college was an
evening shift desk agent at an up-
and-coming hotel just outside of
Lubbock.
I worked there for over a
year, gaining practice in
customer service and basic
accounting skills.
10. Law Office of John Sims
The second half of my junior
year, I gained employment
with a powerful Lubbock
attorney’s office.
This basic clerk job has
allowed me to gain a basic
understanding of the legal
system, and continued
practice in client relations.
11. Career Plans
After passing the State Bar
exam, I plan on working
for a small but powerful
law firm in one of the
smaller major cities.
After substantial
experience in the field, my
final goal is to start my
own firm where I get to
pick clients based on
interest in the case rather
than receiving payment.
