We live in the
information age and
are witnessing the
sweeping change
in the way we
interact; the way we
communicate with
our friends, family
and colleagues. We
express ourselves
more through
e-greeting cards,
messages, emails,
templates and
emoticons. A native
speaker of the
English language
masters about
20,000 words by
10 years of age
and adds another
20,000 to 30,000
words by 18 years
of age. Whereas our
children even if they
go to English medium
schools manage to
learn only about
12000 to 20000
words by the time
they leave school.
Only those children
who use English
outside classrooms
get better at their
English, the rest
struggle their way
both in academics
as well as in their
career.
Though nowadays
parents send their
children to English
medium schools,
they do not realize
that they will not get
anywhere closer to
the native speakers.
U n d e r s t a n d i n g
the increasing
importance of
English in the lives of
our children we have
designed a creative
writing programme
for children between
9 and 14 yrs. It is
aimed to improve
their English skills
and help them think
creatively. This will
help them express
their innermost
feelings, emotions,
desires, thoughts
and ideas without
inhibitions. It is a
unique programme
that runs for about
30 intensive sessions
of 3 hrs each
spanning across July
– June. Each session
is highly interactive
and fun filled to
ensure that students
get inspired and
develop a love for the
English language.
The programme
culminates in giving
the students the
inputs, guidance,
criticisms to develop
a their writings and
e-publish their book.
