We first discussed real-life examples of using pi, such as calculating the circumference of a circular garden or round window. We then learned about different methods people use to memorize pi's digits, such as images, words and poems. Feeling hungry from learning so many digits, we ate pie and tried to calculate how to divide it into 31 equal slices. We wrote poems and did other math activities related to pi before celebrating Pi Day.
