Pie on PI day
Lugoj, March 14th 2012
We first thought about examples of
using PI in real life problems, like:
 How much fence we need to
surround a round garden?
 How much we need to pay for
the glass of a round window?
 How much detergent is needed to
  wash a round carpet?
Than we
tried to
imagine …
We found news about people
memorizing PI’s digits and figured
out ways of doing it : images, words,
poems – “piems”. We read some of
them, than wrote some of our own.
Too many digits made us hungry.
Luckily, we had a … pie.
We tried to calculate how to divide
        it in 31 equal parts
We tried to eat responsible,
        because …
And we think our calculations were correct,
since everyone was smiling at the end!
Here is some of our
work inspired by PI
And a PI-poem:
        This is PI
    And always will be
     Part of the pie,
  The Sun and the Moon
                     Lorena

Happy PI day!
