1. Stepdad’s molestation, abuse case to be tried
before Intermediate Court

A MAN accused of outraging the modesty of two of his stepdaughters and child abuse on
another is claiming trial against the charges before the Intermediate Court.
The 39-year-old defendant, who shall remain anonymous to protect the identity of the
victims, is accused of outraging the modesty of his stepdaughter, Miss A, 24, on five
occasions in the span of 10 years since 2003.
The court document states that her stepfather is accused of groping Miss A’s breast and
inserting his finger into her genitals during those occasions.
Meanwhile, the defendant is also accused of child abuse of another stepdaughter, Miss B,
between 2002 and 2004.
Miss B, according to the court document, was allegedly abused by the defendant when
he repeatedly groped her breasts, kicking her head, spitting, punching and slapping her
face.
The girl was aged between 12 to 14 years old at the time.
The defendant is also facing two counts of outraging the modesty of his 22-year-old
stepdaughter, Miss C.
The defendant is accused of rubbing her stomach and genitals some time in the evening
of 2012 and then again the next year when the defendant allegedly groped her buttocks.
The defendant, is represented by defence counsel Paul Fernandez and will have his trial
heard before Intermediate Court Judge Pg Hjh Hanani. Prosecuting Officer Shamshuddin
Hj Kamaluddin appeared for the prosecution.
The prosecution indicated that 10 witnesses will be brought in to give evidence against
the defendant.
The defendant has been released on a $10,000 court bail in two local sureties, which can
be revoked if defendant approaches the victims. Trial begins July 7.
