Presentation on the subject of personal health data, blockchain technology and my master's thesis project. "Donate Your Data" provides individuals with the option to take ownership of their personal health data and make choices on how it is donated for use within health research studies. It is a first step towards a future in which data-driven services are designed according to citizen data rights, offering both data security and transparency over its use to each and every person. Many people are not fully aware about how
their data is created, stored and shared
around the world.
When was the last time you read through a
complete list of service terms and conditions?

5. The European GDPR
Coming May 2018
With the world continuing to move fast into
the digital age, previous data protection laws
have become outdated. The General Data
Protection Reform will offer new rights for
citizens and their personal data.

in Denmark
Access to healthcare datasets in Denmark is
limited by a number of administrative and
technical frameworks that are in place to
regulate the access of data. Access to some
registers requires approval from multiple
agencies – a process that can take between
12-18 months.

Knowing little about the technology and
subject of health data, I set out on a journey
to learn from subject experts based in
Denmark.

16. What’s next?
The Data for Good Foundation are
continuing their efforts to gain funding for
their research. They plan on developing
products such as “Donate Your Data” that
provide citizens with ownership and control
of their personal data.
