When doing percentage problems, just
remember that “of” means multiplication and
“is” means “equal to”. Also, don’t forget to
convert the percent to a decimal by moving the
decimal point two places to the left. Then set
up an equation and, if needed, use variables.

Let’s look at this example:
1. Find 25% of 80.
 So, remembering what was stated above,
    translate that sentence into an equation as
    follows:

0.25*80=x

When you calculate 0.25 times 80, the answer
  is 20. So, 25% of 80 is 20.
