1) Not as mature as he should be. He could be more modest.
2) Interpersonal competence—this is 70% of the issue (the other 30% is
just time/task management). Listen—be there when your team
needs you—connect with them.
3) There is not a real feeling of “team” under him. He’s very structured
and lives by logic and reason. There’s no emotion or empathy. He
doesn’t take relationships beyond the transactional level. His
“interest” in others seems artificial at times.
4) Multitasking—I can never maintain her attention in a conversation.
She is constantly playing with her Blackberry, taking “important”
calls, or going through papers preparing for her next meeting. Either
what I’m saying is of no interest or she’s overwhelmed—neither of
which is good.
