Certainly, public good and services are provided to the public because citizens are not able to pay for roads, libraries, streets, sanitation and so on. The government provides the public services because they are used for all citizens. Indeed, public goods and services must promote health, safety, welfare, and many others. Basically, many services may be provided by the private sector, but they are better provided for the public sector. or public needs that were identified. These local needs included the provision of potable water sources,
managing waste water, building roads and bridges and protective services like fire and police. Clearly, the

Because non-profits are diverse and complex it can be difficult to define and make inclusive to one definition. It can refer to charitable tax-exempt organizations, civic organizations that do not allow the deductibility of donations, and unincorporated organizations (Renz, 2016, pg. 3).
The non-profit sector covers a broad spectrum of public services such as hospitals, foundations, charities, religious institutions, and disaster relief organizations. Acknowledging the importance of non-profits is easy as these organizations attempt to address the issues of millions of people whether it be donations, programs, or services. Although tax exempt, government policies play a crucial role in the growing number of nonprofit organizations either indirectly by providing incentives or directly through grants and contracts (Renz, 2016, pg. 17). Non-profits don’t exist to make a profit but to use excess resources to meet needs that the government alone cannot fulfill. These organizations are not prohibited from earning revenue as long as the profit-making activities are related to the recognized program purpose.
The three main sectors private, non-profit, and the government share several similarities and key differences. One of the main differences is how their resources are handled. A non-profit organizations’ money is legally required to support its mission while private entities are able to distribute their resources to shareholders. Government agencies redirect their surplus resources back into government initiatives. Political shifts also highlight additional differences. As the political power changes so do the priorities in governmental agencies and the availability of public sector programs (The role of non-profits vs government and for profit sectors, 2015). Political shifts can garner more support and funding for non-profits but because the organizations secure funding from outside sources, programs can continue indefinitely as long as resources are available without any effect of a political change.
Non-profits are typically restricted with their work inside of the community as long as its business and mission related. Most restrictions imposed on non-profits are administered through state and federal government agencies through tax compliance, incorporation rules, and political participation.

If I was to define Public Policy, I would describe it as a group of political officials coming together to collaborate and make decisions are certain topics that effect the community. These decisions will ultimately aid in resolving current issues while avoiding replica's of the past with choices that did not fair well with the community (Rushefsky, 2013;2014;). These decisions should be made with the people's interests at heart and the desire to progress as a community. While these decisions are ultimately made by the council, I do believe that the public should have an influential impact on these decisions.
As far as Public Policies that have impacted myself and family the most in my small town of Beaufort, SC; I would definitely have to say the every day road construction. The city has agreed to include new traffic lights & circles among the town and in doing so, multiple lanes have been blocked and traffic flow is pretty grueling come five' O clock (Communications & Accountability Dept., 2018). I understand the purpose of this construction as to improve the over all quality for our community once finished, BUT the timeline for these changes is quite lengthy. I don't believe that I have lived in Beaufort, where there has not been some type of road construction or brief road closures. I believe that these changes were made as Beaufort is an ever growing community. As time has passed, our town has brought in more franchise businesses among our "mom & pop" businesses that used to flourish in this town. Some of them still do, but with two Marine Corps bases in the area like Parris Island, SC; we often have many families traveling to us every other week for their Marine's graduation and this brings even more traffic flow among the regulars in town. I surely hope that their road construction plan will be of great benefit in the future, but as is it seems like we are more backed up than ever before. It is an adjustment to say the least.
In regard to national policies that effect my family and I, I can't think of one that is specific to my family, but I do know that this act will effect my daughter when she begins school. This act is the "Children's Internet Protection Act" which ensures that schools are placing protection and blocks on their school computers to prevent children from being exposed to issues of an inappropriate nature on the internet (Federal Communications Commission, 2018). Its one thing to be able to monitor the activity that your child see's at home on your personal electronics. That can be easily prevented if you understand how to place appropriate blocks, but when you're children have to be away from you to learn, you want to know that they are in a safe environment where their minds and hearts will be protected at all times. Introduction
We think of our societies as ‘knowledge societies’ in which lifelong learning is
becoming increasingly important. Lifelong learning refers to the idea that people
not only learn in schools and universities, but also in non-formal and informal
ways during their lifespan.The concepts of lifelong learning and lifelong education
began to enter the discourse on educational policies in the late 1960s (Tuijnman
& Boström, 2002). However, these are related, but distinct concepts. As Lee (2014,
p. 472) notes ‘the terminological change (from lifelong education, continuing
education and adult education, to lifelong learning) reflects a conceptual departure
from the idea of organised educational provision to that of a more individualised
pursuit of learning’.
One of the first important documents on lifelong learning was the report of the
International Commission on the Development of Education to UNESCO in
1972, titled ‘Learning to be. The world of education today and tomorrow’. In his
introductory letter to the Director-General of UNESCO, the chairman of the
Commission, Edgar Faure, stated that the work of the Commission was based on
four assumptions (see Elfert pp. and Carneiro pp. in this issue). The first was
related to the idea that there was an international community which was united by
common aspirations and the second was the belief in democracy and in education
as its keystones. The third was ‘that the aim of development is the complete
fulfilment of man, in all the richness of his personality, the complexity of his forms
of expression and his various commitments — as individual, member of a family
and of a community, citizen and producer, inventor of techniques and creative
dreamer’. The last assumption was that ‘only an over-all, lifelong education can
produce the kind of complete man, the need for whom is increasing with the
continually more stringent constraints tearing the individual asunder’ (Faure,
1972, p. vi).
Following the Faure Report, the UNESCO Institute for Education, which
was founded in Germany in 1951, started to focus on lifelong learning and
subsequently became the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL, http://
uil.unesco.org/home/). It was under its leadership that a formal model of lifelong
education was developed and published in the book ‘Towards a System of Life-
long Education’ (Cropley, 1980). The concept of lifelong learning also became
manifest in the ‘Education for All’ (EFA) agenda that was launched at the World
Conference on Education for All which took place in Jomtien (Thailand) in
1990 (Inter-Agency Commission, 1990). Ten years later, at the World Education
Forum in Dakar (Senegal) in 2000, the Dakar Framework for Action was
designed ‘to enable all individuals to realize their right to learn and to fulfil their

Voluntary organizations funded by public contributions have existed since the seventeenth century; however, didn’t become a unified sector until the 1970s (Renz, 2016, pg. 7). Because non-profits are diverse and complex it can be difficult to define and make inclusive to one definition. It can refer to charitable tax-exempt organizations, civic organizations that do not allow the deductibility of donations, and unincorporated organizations (Renz, 2016, pg. 3).
The non-profit sector covers a broad spectrum of public services such as hospitals, foundations, charities, religious institutions, and disaster relief organizations. Acknowledging the importance of non-profits is easy as these organizations attempt to address the issues of millions of people whether it be donations, programs, or services. Although tax exempt, government policies play a crucial role in the growing number of nonprofit organizations either indirectly by providing incentives or directly through grants and contracts (Renz, 2016, pg. 17). Non-profits don’t exist to make a profit but to use excess resources to meet needs that the government alone cannot fulfill. These organizations are not prohibited from earning revenue as long as the profit-making activities are related to the recognized program purpose.
The three main sectors private, non-profit, and the government share several similarities and key differences. One of the main differences is how their resources are handled. A non-profit organizations’ money is legally required to support its mission while private entities are able to distribute their resources to shareholders. Government agencies redirect their surplus resources back into government initiatives. Political shifts also highlight additional differences. As the political power changes so do the priorities in governmental agencies and the availability of public sector programs (The role of non-profits vs government and for profit sectors, 2015). Political shifts can garner more support and funding for non-profits but because the organizations secure funding from outside sources, programs can continue indefinitely as long as resources are available without any effect of a political change.
Non-profits are typically restricted with their work inside of the community as long as its business and mission related. Most restrictions imposed on non-profits are administered through state and federal government agencies through tax compliance, incorporation rules, and political participation.

If I was to define Public Policy, I would describe it as a group of political officials coming together to collaborate and make decisions are certain topics that effect the community. These decisions will ultimately aid in resolving current issues while avoiding replica's of the past with choices that did not fair well with the community (Rushefsky, 2013;2014;). These decisions should be made with the people's interests at heart and the desire to progress as a community. As far as Public Policies that have impacted myself and family the most in my small town of Beaufort, SC; I would definitely have to say the every day road construction. The city has agreed to include new traffic lights & circles among the town and in doing so, multiple lanes have been blocked and traffic flow is pretty grueling come five' O clock (Communications & Accountability Dept., 2018). I understand the purpose of this construction as to improve the over all quality for our community once finished, BUT the timeline for these changes is quite lengthy. I don't believe that I have lived in Beaufort, where there has not been some type of road construction or brief road closures. I believe that these changes were made as Beaufort is an ever growing community. As time has passed, our town has brought in more franchise businesses among our "mom & pop" businesses that used to flourish in this town. Some of them still do, but with two Marine Corps bases in the area like Parris Island, SC; we often have many families traveling to us every other week for their Marine's graduation and this brings even more traffic flow among the regulars in town. I surely hope that their road construction plan will be of great benefit in the future, but as is it seems like we are more backed up than ever before. It is an adjustment to say the least.
In regard to national policies that effect my family and I, I can't think of one that is specific to my family, but I do know that this act will effect my daughter when she begins school. This act is the "Children's Internet Protection Act" which ensures that schools are placing protection and blocks on their school computers to prevent children from being exposed to issues of an inappropriate nature on the internet (Federal Communications Commission, 2018). Its one thing to be able to monitor the activity that your child see's at home on your personal electronics. That can be easily prevented if you understand how to place appropriate blocks, but when you're children have to be away from you to learn, you want to know that they are in a safe environment where their minds and hearts will be protected at all times. Introduction
We think of our societies as ‘knowledge societies’ in which lifelong learning is
becoming increasingly important. Lifelong learning refers to the idea that people
not only learn in schools and universities, but also in non-formal and informal
ways during their lifespan.The concepts of lifelong learning and lifelong education
began to enter the discourse on educational policies in the late 1960s (Tuijnman
& Boström, 2002). However, these are related, but distinct concepts. As Lee (2014,
p. 472) notes ‘the terminological change (from lifelong education, continuing
education and adult education, to lifelong learning) reflects a conceptual departure
from the idea of organised educational provision to that of a more individualised
pursuit of learning’.
One of the first important documents on lifelong learning was the report of the
International Commission on the Development of Education to UNESCO in
1972, titled ‘Learning to be. The world of education today and tomorrow’. In his
introductory letter to the Director-General of UNESCO, the chairman of the
Commission, Edgar Faure, stated that the work of the Commission was based on
four assumptions (see Elfert pp. and Carneiro pp. in this issue). The first was
related to the idea that there was an international community which was united by
common aspirations and the second was the belief in democracy and in education
as its keystones. The third was ‘that the aim of development is the complete
fulfilment of man, in all the richness of his personality, the complexity of his forms
of expression and his various commitments — as individual, member of a family
and of a community, citizen and producer, inventor of techniques and creative
dreamer’. The last assumption was that ‘only an over-all, lifelong education can
produce the kind of complete man, the need for whom is increasing with the
continually more stringent constraints tearing the individual asunder’ (Faure,
1972, p. vi).
Following the Faure Report, the UNESCO Institute for Education, which
was founded in Germany in 1951, started to focus on lifelong learning and
subsequently became the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL, http://
uil.unesco.org/home/). It was under its leadership that a formal model of lifelong
education was developed and published in the book ‘Towards a System of Life-
long Education’ (Cropley, 1980). The concept of lifelong learning also became
manifest in the ‘Education for All’ (EFA) agenda that was launched at the World
Conference on Education for All which took place in Jomtien (Thailand) in

Base Salary Range
For the position of VP of Operations, the National Average Salary is $122,624. In San Francisco, the average is higher and placed at $155,946. This amount is 16% higher than the National Average (Payscale, 2016). The reason for this increase is because of experience and geography. These are the two prime factors that impact the pay scale. Another major factor is the employer. Most employers base their decision to hire an individual on the experience they bring with them. Of course, with more experience, higher pay is required. With our company cutting cost a less experienced individual would be the best fit for the position.
Standard Employee Benefit
In many cases, your employee benefits could be the turning point for a prospective employee. This benefit is a vital portion of any employee packet. These valuable benefits are used as a blanket of security in the case of any sickness, injury, unemployment, old age, or death (Gomez-Mejia, Balkin & Cardy, 2015, p. 362). There is a significant difference between incentives and benefits: benefits are financial and nonfinancial compensations that are indirect to the employee. To have a competitive strategy Blossoms Up! must align their profits with the compensation package that has been already put in place. This action will help provide flexibility to the amount and the benefits available (Gomez-Mejia et al., 2015).
There are also some benefits that most companies are legally obligated to provide. Three benefits are required regardless of the number of employees that the company has. These interests involve social security, workers compensation, and unemployment insurance (Gomez-Mejia et al., 2015). Other laws must be adhered to when dealing with a certain number of individuals. When a company has 50 or more employee they must have the Family and Medical Leave Act in place and since its induction in 2015 the Affordable Care Act for Health Insurance for companies with 20 or more employees. For the health insurance to be considered standard medical, vision and dental plans must be made available to the business. These programs that must be regarded as being under the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) (Gomez-Mejia et al., 2015).
There are some voluntary benefits that we can include. We are already looking into adding a pension package using the Defined Contribution Plan as well as the 401(K) plan (Gomez-Mejia et al., 2015). This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The government finances public goods and services. This function of the government increment economy. Therefore, politicians feel responsible for improving public goods and services. In the same way, manager’s accountability and outcomes are critical in public administration. Accordingly, domestics services, improve individuals’ health and the quality of life. Some household services include transport services, water supply, sanitation, education, crime prevention and many others. Some l ocal and state public services are education, health care centers, public services, police protection and welfare programs. In fact, federa l public services include clean water, clean air, official statistics, software generation, invention and many others. (Lall and Lundberg, 2007). Truly, all persons benefit from public goods. However, some people have more needs than others, for example, wealthy people would not need to apply for welfare service; other people should pay school tax event though they have no

Certainly, public good and services are provided to the public because citizens are not able to pay for roads, libraries, streets, sanitation and so on. The government provides the public services because they are used for all citizens. Indeed, public goods and services must promote health, safety, welfare, and many others. Basically, many services may be provided by the private sector, but they are better provided for the public sector. For example, private education may be efficiently and cheaply, however, public provision serves the community better ( The Social Study Help Center, 2017). Communities are affected by the three levels of government, people behavior can be pursued, if the government is organized and work toward the community wellbeing. The government system helps to educate the community about health, child development and many others. Truly, the government concerns about recycling, toxic waste deposit and many more. It is these agencies that provide the goods and services to citizens. For instance, the National Park Service cares for the national parks, preserves their natural and cultural resources, and hosts more than 275 million visitors every year (NPS, 2017). This is just one example of the many of services provided by the hundreds of agencies operating within the United States government. The 10 th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution mandates that all powers not granted to the federal government are reserved for the states and the people (Our Government, 2017). The State of South Carolina administers many goods and services related to health and safety, business development, and education and employment, to name a few. One example (probably the most frustrating of services to citizens) is the Department of Motor Vehicles. This is where people obtain their driver’s license as well as register their vehicles. There is an interesting intergovernmental relationship between the state and county governments in this arena. Every year, I receive a bill from the county I live in, for the property taxes owed on my car. I must pay this before I can renew my license plate sticker. I must pay my taxes to the county I live in, but the sticker comes through the state. The two entities have worked out an arrangement so I can pay my taxes to the County and receive my new license plate sticker without having to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles. It alleviates the hassle of going to two different agencies and taking time from work to wait in long lines. Municipalities generally take responsibility for parks and
- 5. recreation services, police and fire departments, housing services, emergency medical services, public works, and public transportation (Our Government, 2017). I live in Summerville, South Carolina which is located in Dorchester County. Dorchester County employs a Sheriff’s Department. The Town of Summerville employs a police department. The Sherriff’s department typically does not interfere with the operations of the Summerville police department unless invited. For instance, the Dorchester County Sherriff’s Office offers special crime investigators that are outside the scope of resources for the Summerville Police Department. The two agencies will collaborate when necessary. While these examples are fairly simplistic, they demonstrate the complexities of public administration at the different levels of government. Each agency and each level of government has its unique set of circumstances and responsibilities. Because each is so different it is hard to apply streamlined management principles and uniform implementation methods, which leads to administrative problems. Intergovernmental relations involve comprehending the complexities of the systems based on mutual interdependence, shared functions, and intertwined influence (Stillman, 2010). I think it is easier to see this in the state and local levels as opposed to the federal level. As citizens, we can see change and progress happen at the local level. We see roads being fixed, trash pick-up, and police and fire department response. This is more tangible to comprehend than scientific research being done within the federal government.
