In the Adani-Hindenburg case, what is SEBI investigating.pptxAdani case
Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.

Medieval Torture and Punishment
Hello, are names are Austin Shettler and Austin Waters. Today we will talk about Medieval Torture and
Punishment. During our presentation you will learn about the punishments that the people in this time
period went through. You will also learn about the different devices they used and what they are called.
Some of the names of the devices are Balls of Torture, Thumbscrews, Catherine Wheel etc. These are some of
the devices that they used to put people in so much pain they pass out and or die. Either way though they
are going to die for what they have done. One of what we think is the harshest torture is impalement
because they literally stick a spear up your butt and you fall on it as slow as possible so it puts you through
pain.
I would like to start off my presentation by talking about the Iron Maiden. As you can see from the picture,
the Iron Maiden has big spikes on the inside part of the door so that when they shut someone inside the
person's arms and legs and stomach are poked through. The result of this is to not kill the person off the
start but to let him sit in for to days and let him scream in agony and die. The very first person that entered
the Iron Maiden was a coin forger he was executed and or tortured on the 15 of August in 1515. The Iron
Maiden was used all around the world.

The next torture device that we are going to talk about is the Judas Cradle. This is when they put you on a
pyramid and the point goes either in your anus or for girls the vaginal area. When doing this the torture
could go just from a few hours to almost three days. Also when they put you on the tip of the pyramid like
thing they tie your hands and legs together so when you move one the other will move to making the pain
go more extreme. When they used this device the torturers rarely washed them. This way if one of the
peoples execution was interrupted then they would die from infection. When they used this device they
were also trying to get some information out of the victim. If he or she would not talk then the executioner
would bounce the victim up and down on the pyramid as well as they were to add weight on there legs and
then there would be more force. This was a very popular way in which they used torture.
The next way of torture is the thumbscrews they used thumbscrews for confession of the prisoner or the
criminal. The thumbscrews are like a vice that has two holes for your fingers to be inserted they used them
to crush usually the victims thumbs. While doing this they would put a person in agonising pain for which
they could break your thumbs and or they could also crush the bone till they shatter. The interrogators used
the thumbscrews on your thumbs, toes, and fingers. What made the thumbscrews so terrible was the bar
that was used to clamp your thumbs or toes down.
Now we go into the wheel of torture this was said to be the most painful torture ever made. The wheel of
torture is said to be the most painful device ever made. The torturer would tie the victim to the wheel in
doing this they would be stretched out to the fullest they can go. But if the person ever tugged or tried to
move the torturer would actually start cranking the wheel they stretch the person even more. While
stretching the person the victims bones would start to break and eventually something would go so wrong
that the victim would die. So when executioners wanted to have something that was slow and painful to
execute people with they used the Wheel of Torture. People that luckily survived this pain and stretching
have said that there is no way you can get anything more painful than the wheel of torture.

The next way of torture that we will talk about is the ducking stool. The ducking stool was specifically used
for women not men. The ducking stool consists of a chair that they strap the women down into so that they
do not move. Then they put the chair next to a river. Then they take an open arm on the device and duck the
women that holds her over the river and then duck them into the freezing cold water. Depending on what
the woman did for a crime was depending on how long they held them under each time they ducked them.
The process could last almost all day if the woman committed a really bad crime. The two main crimes in
which the woman had to go through this was prostitution and witchcraft. The other thing the women could
do is scold or to be known as gossip this is another way the woman found themselves in the ducking booth.
The only time they ever ducked a man is if he was accused of witchcraft but back then that did not happen
often for the men. There philosophy of some of the people was that if they held the person under water and
they came a float then they were with the devil, but if the person was said to drown then the person was to
be innocent. This was the use of the ducking booth.
The next device is what is called the rack. This was said to be one of the worst tortures ever thought of. The
rack is a wooden frame above ground that has ropes fixed to the bottom and another two tied in the handle
at the top. When the torturer would turn the handle the ropes would start to pull the victim's arms. When it
pulled the victim's arms the bones eventually dislocated with a huge crack sound. Some of the bones were
actually torn mostly the arms that suffered most of the damage while the torturer kept on turning the
handle. They used this device mostly for confession and when there was someone already being stretched
they would bring in another victim to watch to create what is known as a phycological fear. This was so if the
victim did not want to go on the rack he might confess right then and there.
The strappado is one of the number one techniques of torture people used for agonizing pain. What they
would tie your wrists together with a long rope. They would put the other side of the rope over a beam on
the ceiling. Then they would lift you up and drop you but would not let you hit the ground. In doing this the
arms and legs of the victim would be dislocated from the amount of pressure committed from your own
weight. When you done on the strappado you were still alive but you were in a lot of pain that made it really
hard for you to move.

The next device is torture but not painful it was used to humiliate the victim. The pillory was a board that in
the middle of it has three holes. The middle hole is for your head and the other two were for your right and
left wrists. Now when the victim was in this device he was completely defenseless to the crowd. So the
crowd used harmless things like fruits and veggies to throw at the victim. This was to humiliate him/her
very bad.
As you can see from my presentation, (summarize key points from your previous 8 slides). (Next, give a
strong final thought) - Talk for 20 seconds - Have a Good Quality, Relevant Picture)
