What is an exercise
program?
It is a plan or a program detailing a
range of physical exercises and the
amount of time each exercise
should be performed.
Phases of an Exercise Program
01 Warm-up Phase
02 Major Exercise Phase
03 Cool Down Phase
to increase body’s temperature and
blood circulation.
It prepares the muscles for any
succeeding strenuous activities.
General Warm-up Period
(5 – 10 minutes of slow to moderate
activities)
Jogging Skipping Dynamic Stretching
The phase where we do strength and
endurance exercises.
Planking
It strengthen the core muscles or
abdominal muscles.
F.I.T.T
Principle
An acronym for Frequency,
Intencity, Time, and Type
How often we exercise, it
depends on the current
fitness level of a person and
the type of activity
performed.
Frequency
How hard is the exercise.
The difficulty level of the
exercise.
Intensity
How long we exercise. The
duration or distance
covered in an exercise
session.
Time
Kind of exercise or activity
and it depends on the
fitness goal.
Type
It is similar to the warm-up phase.
It means generally continuing the
workout session for five minutes or so
but in a slower pace and reduced
intensity.
