18771 REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK PISTOL
This is a sporting pistol which was built on the Military Model 1867 Navy
pistol frame. The frame is mostly gray in color but with some dark spots. It is
marked with the Remington address and patent dates on the left side and with
“P/F.C.W.” on the right side above the triggerguard. Surfaces of the frame
are smooth with edges slightly rounded. Backstrap has been engraved with a
fairly coarse and non-professional execution of scroll and a punched dot
background. The barrel is 10” long and part round/part octagon. It is mounted
with a thin blade front sight dovetailed at the muzzle and a stamped steel rear
sight attached with two screws just ahead of the breech. The barrel is similar
in color to the frame, mostly gray with some brown areas. It is smooth with
no pitting. Caliber appears to be .32 rimfire. There are no markings on the
barrel. The stocks comprise a small slender forend with a pewter nosecap and
one piece grip. Somewhat crude checkering panels are executed on both sides
of the grip and on the bottom of the forend. Overall condition is about very
good.
Price: $625.00
