The target customer wants clothing that will accentuate her body in the most flattering way. The customer looks for comfort and style when shopping for intimates. The customer craves quality clothing at an affordable price.
Edgy, seductive and timeless, rock n’ roll provides female empowerment through tougher, more industrial materials. The modern day woman doesn’t want her underwear to just be lace and satin, but leather and leopard. She doesn’t want just white and pink, but chili pepper red and metallic. Women are more than just sugar and spice and everything nice... they are ready to rock a studded bra!
The colors Chili Pepper Red and Daring Black scream Rock N’ Roll, portraying the overall theme. Intense Gray, ____, and ____...The metallic colors… The bold and unique colors combine to create a color palette unlike any other in Victoria’s Secret’s history.
Black leather, metallic leather, lace, leopard print, and studs promise to attract consumers that crave a daring style. Rich black leather creates a cool and edgy vibe due to a smooth and stimulating appearance. Shiny and provocative, metallic leather reveals an intensified boldness every woman desires. Lace mixes a soft feminine appeal with a sense of mystery, eliciting pure sexiness. Unleashing animal tendencies, silky leopard print provokes a wild side of raw sensuality. The enticement of golden studs serve to empower a woman, awakening the rebel inside. Separately the materials allow for strong individuality, but when combined they create a dominating force.
“And though she be but little she is fierce”- William Shakespeare, which is so true about our products. Our shopper will be fierce and confident in these sexy styles no matter how little she is. Whether she is completely showing off our product or keeping it hidden for the right moment, she will always be in style under her clothes. Leather, lace, plaid are all big on the streets that unlocks your inner rock and roll, so why not incorporate that into all aspects of your daily wear? Black, red, dark blue, and bold prints make her feel sexy, so let’s make her feel even more sexy by adding all the rock and roll details we love. She will always feel fierce in our products no matter what she’s wearing.
The leather and studded selections go with the edgy, rock n’ roll vibe we were going for. The hourglass silhouettes chosen create a feminine balance to these heavier fabrics. There are some unconventional shapes (shown in the metallic copper bra shown on the far right) which will provide an exciting new shape to the traditional Victoria’s Secret bra. And there are some interesting new textures to make the bras more fun such as the lace applique and the studs. While we want to add more edge to the brand, we want to make sure the collection is still practical for the everyday woman.
Victoria’s Secret always stays consistent with the type of intimate apparel it offers. Our brand has not used the trends we predicted in our forecast, including metallic leather and different material combinations like studs and lace. Using our Rock N’ Roll Street Wear forecast will open Victoria’s Secret to a larger demographic, allowing us to keep our current customers and attract new ones. The edgy looks will encourage women to be more confident and secure in their own skin, leading to a feeling of empowerment.
