Trevor, a 7th grade boy, comes up with a plan called "Pay It Forward" where someone does a good deed for three people who each do a good deed for three more. He helps Simonet, a lonely boy in need of a family, and Arlene, a woman struggling with alcoholism who needs help around the house, by bringing them together to form a new family unit. Trevor is able to overcome obstacles in his life and help others in need through his philanthropic plan of paying kindness forward.
