This document discusses the concept of "innovation engineers" and their role in fostering innovation. It defines innovation engineers as professionals who focus on practicing and applying frameworks for innovation in a rapidly changing environment. It outlines several elements of innovation engineering, including open innovation models, assets like intellectual property and networks, common roles and jobs, tools, the importance of networks, and processes for standardization. The overall message is that nurturing innovation requires both developing skills in individuals and fostering international engagement, weak-tie networks, and standardization practices.
