Erin Donevan spent a weekend at a cattle post in Botswana and learned several lessons:
1) Stargazing from the bed of a truck is more enjoyable than traveling in a minivan.
2) Her Setswana language skills are not as strong as she thought and she struggled to communicate without English.
3) Batswana prefer to wear long sleeves and pants in the heat to stay light-skinned, unlike Americans who wear less.
4) Goats bleed profusely when killed and it's difficult to eat them after petting and watching them bleed. Batswana waste nothing and eat all parts of the goat.
