2 jeans and 3 T-shirts cost a total of $301. Each jean is $18 more expensive than a T-
shirt. What is the cost of a T-shirt?
u = cost of a T-shirt
Total cost = 5u + (18 x 2) = 301
5u + 36 = 301
5u = 301 – 36 = 265
Cost of T-shirt = u = 265 ÷ 5 = $53
