1. In Burundi, children used books as protection from the rain since they did not have hoodies or umbrellas, as the books were their first written in their language. 2. Publishing for Empowerment (P4E) aims to publish children's books in 51 least developed countries by 2015 in order to provide opportunities, address social issues, and provide books for children in those countries. 3. P4E has published 10 books so far, raised $52,400, debuted over 80 authors/translators, and distributed 5,000 books in Burundi.
