NapBook is a peer-to-peer social networking service that aims to give users complete control over their data and decentralize control away from any central authority. It uses a "power of attorney" model to allow users to decide who can access their data and keep ownership of it, taking a similar approach to privacy and ownership as Diaspora. Governments may dislike NapBook for the same reason they dislike Skype - because it decentralizes control and ownership away from any central entity.
