Korea signaled its interest in having a labor market training course with a
focus on Asia.
 A joint regional Labor Market Course with a focus on Asia has been implemented –
jointly with the Korean Government in Seoul, Korea.

smaller regional capacity building events, e.g. clinics on M & E of labor
market programs
 The joint regional ILO-WB labor market courses have been institutionalized.
 A 4-day national impact evaluation workshop has been implemented in El Salvador.
 Three workshops on capacity building for impact evaluation of active labor market
programs in the Western Balkans in 2011.
Commitments and Achievements
Dissemination events covering all focus areas
Jobswatch: ILO-WB-Policy Report, Database, and Manual launched at the WB’s Spring
Meetings in 2012.
Informality: smaller seminar held in Washington, D.C. in 2012 - additional events to be
discussed
Migration/Informality presented in special sessions during the annual IZA-WB-conference
Training rolled out in 7 focus countries while implementing the Skills and Employability
Work Agenda
Smaller regional dissemination events of country-level activities and seminars
with the research teams
 Dissemination activities on informality in Kathmandu (Nepal), Hanoi (Vietnam), Beijing
(China), Uganda, and Mali.
 A workshop to disseminate the results of the baseline report of the impact evaluation is in
El Salvador.

and Dissemination Activities
A number of Policy Notes – e.g. “from
Evidence to Policy”
Make research results accessible to policy makers
and a broader audience [total of around 40 papers
across all topics of the MDTF – cost estimate $1,200
per note including author + printing = $24,000 for
20 selected papers]
Flashdrive with all papers and results [$10 per
flashdrive/card = $5,000 for 500 flashdrives]
Overview folder [$10 per folder = $5,000 for 500
folders]
Looking Forward – Final Results
and Dissemination Activities
Dissemination Events:
Smaller regional dissemination events of country-level activities and
seminars with the research teams
Smaller regional workshops in client countries have an average cost-
estimate of $85,000 for approx. 40 participants
Larger Events
A larger one-day event in a selected client country (e.g. in SSA) with
presentation from implementers and researchers and policy makers has a
cost-estimate $285,000
A larger one-day event in donor countries with presentation from
implementers and researchers and policy makers has a cost-estimate
$150,000 (if room charges etc. are covered by the donor and logistical
support can be ensured)
A larger one-day event in Washington with presentation from
implementers and researchers and policy makers has a cost-estimate of
approx. $150,000
