Extreme ironing originated in England when Philip Show decided to iron his laundry in the mountains instead of at home. He took an ironing board, iron, and laundry with him, and was later joined by Paul Nick. Extreme ironing combines outdoor adventures with ironing clothes, and involves ironing in unusual and dangerous locations like mountains, forests, bodies of water, and urban areas. Equipment needed is just an iron, ironing board, and finding unconventional places to iron.
