Oscar Pistorius is a South African sprinter born with a congenital absence of fibula in both legs. At 11 months old, both of his legs were amputated below the knee. He races with carbon fiber prosthetic legs, earning him the nickname "Blade Runner." Pistorius holds multiple Paralympic and world records in sprinting events and hopes to one day compete in the Olympics alongside able-bodied runners, though some argue his prosthetics may give him an unfair advantage.
