Political Stewardship: Why Draconian Acts and Laws Are Not Compatible With Ou...Thesigan Nadarajan
The word draconian itself has a history of severity, harshness and cruelty. Draconian stands for everything that is inhuman, unreasonable and plainly devilish. Draconian laws not only disregard all human rights but even are prepared to desecrate whatever is sacred to humanity and gods.

This document discusses a three-part interview with Allan Parachini, a former journalist and public information officer for the Los Angeles Superior Court. In the interview, Parachini explains that judges worked to destroy Dr. Richard Fine, who served 18 months in solitary confinement. He also discusses how the judges try to keep the public out of their business and protect their generous benefits. The document provides related commentary criticizing judicial immunity and arguing that it allows judges and officials to abuse their power.
The document discusses several topics related to globalization including:
1. Globalization represents a complex process that reshapes the international scenario and roles of global players as companies become more multinational and states face new challenges in regulating economic activity.
2. Migration, human/sex trafficking, and transnational organized crime tend to increase with globalization as borders become more porous, but states still have alternatives for effectively participating in globalization.
3. Human/sex trafficking definitions, statistics, and country tier rankings according to compliance with anti-trafficking standards are reviewed, noting it remains a problem in the US as well as globally.
4. Transnational organized criminal groups like drug cartels present strategic
1. The report examines the privatization of the American prison system and its impact on the criminal justice system.
2. Private prisons now make up around 2% of the total prison population in the US and generate billions in annual revenue for the two largest private prison companies.
3. While private prisons may save state and local governments around 50% in expenses, they also create incentives to cut costs and have been shown to have higher rates of violence and staff turnover due to lower pay.
The document provides a narrative on prisoners' rights law and policy from the perspective of a jailhouse lawyer. It begins with a brief procedural history of the author's 20 years of experience as a pro se litigant, beginning in 1976. It then contrasts the legal definitions and roles of a pro se litigant and jailhouse lawyer. While a pro se litigant represents themselves, a jailhouse lawyer provides legal assistance and advice to other inmates. The author analyzes key Supreme Court cases that established inmates' right to receive legal assistance from other inmates if prison officials do not provide adequate alternative assistance.
After putting a box of old poetry manuscripts in the trash, a professor was reported to police by a student as a "Middle Eastern man" acting suspiciously. This led to an evacuation of campus buildings and cancellation of classes as the bomb squad investigated. It was revealed to be just recycling. However, the incident showed how an innocent action by a person of color can be viewed as a threat due to a culture of fear and profiling. While the university denied the report was racially motivated, the professor was deeply troubled by the profiling and atmosphere of suspicion it revealed.

This document summarizes a paper that examines police brutality against African Americans. It discusses several cases of unarmed black men being killed by police and finds that police are more likely to use force against black men. It argues that implicit racial bias permeates the criminal justice system and causes disproportionate policing and incarceration of African Americans. Statistics show black people are more often stopped and arrested for minor crimes. The document traces these issues back to slavery and Jim Crow laws and argues systemic racism remains deeply entrenched in the criminal justice system.
Globalisation has contributed to green crime becoming a global issue for two reasons. First, environmental destruction in one area impacts all life worldwide as the planet is an interconnected ecosystem. Second, green crime is often committed by powerful transnational corporations working with governments to harm the environment for profit. These manufactured risks threaten the planet through issues like greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. However, policing green crime is difficult as international laws are weak or non-existent due to lack of agreement between nations. Radical criminologists argue for an expanded definition of green crime that considers any environmental harm a crime, while critics say this is a subjective rather than objective view. Green criminology recognizes the importance of environmental issues but is accused of bias in focusing on
This document contains an exploration of racial profiling in law enforcement in the United States by Mia Watts for an AJ 115 Community and Human Relations course at El Camino College in Spring 2017. It discusses what racial profiling is, provides examples of racial profiling in law enforcement historically and currently, and summarizes several articles examining specific cases and research on the topic that show how racial profiling has negatively impacted law enforcement and communities of color.
This document is a paper exploring racial profiling in US law enforcement. It discusses how racial profiling has negatively impacted law enforcement over time. Racial profiling refers to targeting individuals by their personal characteristics rather than their behavior. Racial profiling has existed since the 1700s and is still practiced today. Examples discussed include Sandra Bland who was arrested and died in police custody, and Amadou Diallo who was shot and killed by police officers. The paper examines several articles about specific cases and instances of racial profiling, and discusses how local events can trigger increased racial discrimination in police stops and use of force. It also summarizes a Supreme Court case around criminal removal related to racial profiling.

The document summarizes research on censorship and social media in China. It discusses two studies:
1) A study that scraped social media posts in China over time and found posts were censored based on their potential to spur social mobilization, not based on their content being pro- or anti-government.
2) A second study submitted fake blog posts to Chinese sites that varied in terms of supporting/criticizing the government and emphasizing collective action. Posts suggesting collective action were more likely to be automatically censored.
The research suggests the goal of censorship in China is to curtail collective action and social mobilization, regardless of the ideological stance of online content.
Leigh ann jara immigration program & policy evaluation & analysis 2014Leigh-Ann Jara, M.S.
The moral panic over immigration that has fomented and grown in intensity with the terrorist attacks of 9/11; Welsh (2002, p.5) states that the laws were due to “moral panic…through distorted lens of racial and ethnic stereotypes.” The immigration laws are controversial to sparing viewpoints because the dilemma is not a clearcut liberal vs. conservative, or democrat vs. republican issue. The problem and solutions are multi-faceted and affect many aspects of American life.
Spire Law Group has filed a lawsuit in New York seeking the return of $43 trillion to the U.S. Treasury, which they allege was laundered by major banks and government officials. The lawsuit names high-level individuals as participants in the scheme, including Attorney General Holder, Treasury Secretary Geithner, and White House advisor Valerie Jarrett. Hours after CNBC reported on the lawsuit, the children of a CNBC executive were murdered, along with their nanny, in what some analysts suggest may have been a covert operation related to the case. The document provides background on the lawsuit's allegations and lists many research sources on related topics like 9/11 conspiracies, the Federal Reserve, and elite secret societies
The document discusses the problem of graft and corruption in the Philippines. It provides background on the types and causes of corruption, as well as some of the most corrupt presidents in Philippine history. Specifically, it states that corruption reached its peak under former President Ferdinand Marcos in the 1980s, when the Philippines was listed as the most corrupt country in the world. It also discusses corruption under the administrations of Joseph Estrada and Gloria Arroyo.
The document discusses the role of the US Federal Government in controlling organized crime over time. It outlines how organized crime groups like the Italian mafia emerged in the 1800s and began activities like drug trafficking and money laundering. It describes some of the government's early efforts to prosecute individuals like Al Capone in the 1920s. The document also notes that currently, African criminal groups are developing rapidly and pose a growing threat, as well as how new technologies are enabling more complex crimes that are harder for law enforcement to address. It concludes that the government will need to continue adapting to new forms of organized criminal activity.

Article in The Times of Israel by Andy Blumenthal: Israel is a small, but powerful nation that wants to stop attacks before they get to their door, and indeed, their lives depend on that. We can learn from Israel’s military doctrine of deterrence through overwhelming strength, unity, and disincentivizing the attackers to inform other security issues, such as ransomware attacks. I believe that the answer lies in a public-private security partnership financially backed by the government.
1) The document discusses policies like "stop and frisk" in New York and Arizona's SB 1070 law that have been criticized for disproportionately targeting and harassing minorities.
2) It describes how these policies have negatively impacted minority communities and violated citizens' constitutional rights, despite claims that they increase public safety.
3) The document analyzes various perspectives on these issues and court rulings that found the policies discriminatory and in need of reform to properly balance law enforcement and civil liberties.
This document summarizes the increasing militarization of local police forces in the United States. It notes that police are receiving military equipment like armored vehicles, assault rifles, and drones through federal programs. Their training also focuses more on military tactics like "no-knock" raids. This has contributed to over 5,000 Americans being killed by police since 9/11, more than the number of US casualties in the Iraq war. The document argues this turns police into a "standing army" that threatens civil liberties, as seen in incidents of police violence against non-violent citizens.

The document is a rebuttal to a column by E.L. Doctorow outlining steps to achieve "unexceptionalism" and make the United States indistinguishable from other countries. The rebuttal argues that Doctorow's points are based on paranoid delusions and straw man arguments. It claims Doctorow misrepresents or oversimplifies situations around topics like the 2000 election, foreign policy, surveillance, taxation, education, unions, and global warming. The rebuttal attempts to debunk Doctorow's arguments over multiple paragraphs.
This document discusses the criminalization of barebacking (unprotected sex) between men and analyzes it through a queer theory lens. It argues that current laws around HIV transmission reflect a heteronormative view that constructs "good gays" who conform to mainstream norms, versus "bad queers" who engage in stigmatized sexual practices like barebacking. The document draws on queer theory to critique how the judiciary views itself as the moral arbiter of acceptable sexuality. It asserts that laws and court decisions surrounding barebacking fail to consider the lived experiences of queer communities and perpetuate a divide between respectable and transgressive forms of gay sexuality.
Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general of the United States, has become a lightning rod for criticism from the White House and Republican supporters due to his refusal to interfere in the ongoing Justice Department investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 US election. The document discusses Rosenstein's defiant independence in upholding the rule of law and the separation of powers despite pressure, as well as the importance of an impartial justice system free from political interference when investigating high-ranking officials. It also draws parallels to issues with the Indian system of government in upholding these principles.

The document discusses three articles related to sanctuary cities and their role in resisting deportation of undocumented immigrants under President Trump. The first article by Downes argues that sanctuary cities facilitate undocumented immigrants living freely and protect them from intimidation and arrest. The second article by Feldman discusses how the immigration justice movement is fighting deportations through creating and defending sanctuary cities. The third article by Blitzer examines how Trump and anti-immigration groups view sanctuary cities as a major barrier to deporting immigrants. Overall, the document analyzes how the three articles demonstrate that sanctuary cities are an effective way to counter Trump's deportation policies and protect undocumented immigrants.

The movement known as Black Lives Matter was started in 2013 in response to the killings of unarmed black men by police. It aims to protest police brutality and racial inequality against black communities. However, some media outlets have portrayed the movement's goals as disrupting peace or falsely painting America. In reality, the movement wants transparent investigations of police killings of black people and reform of the criminal justice system, which disproportionately incarcerates and arrests black and Latino individuals. The Black Lives Matter movement also plans to address issues like failing education systems that negatively impact black youth and mass incarceration of people of color.

Media Reporting of Terrorist Activities Paper
Terrorism is causing destruction to property or harm to citizens in order to spread a message or to incite fear. The terrorist can come from a far off country or they can be an American citizen but the end result is the same, victims are hurt and property is destroyed. Terrorism can happen anywhere at any time and no matter how many anti-terrorism measures that are in place it will not stop the terrorist determined to wreak havoc. This is clear by the recent bombing at the Boston Marathon by terrorists that were not even on the raider of law enforcement. Terrorist will go to any means to spread their religious, political, or social message and do not care who is harmed in the process.
Since the attacks on September 11, 2001 law enforcement has been successful in stopping further terrorist attacks through their anti-terrorism measures but in the case of the Boston Marathon the attacks were unexpected resulting in a failure of law enforcement to prevent the bombs from going off and killing innocent victims. While the Boston Marathon bombing are one of several domestic abuse attacks the fatal attack by terrorist on September 11, 2001 is the first terrorist attack to make it to American shores by an international terrorists group. This attack resulted in the deaths of 2,996 Americans while the Boston Marathon resulted in the death of two. No matter the death toll the terrorist act creates chaos and fear in society.
Terrorists do not always come from foreign countries and some come from America. In the case of the Boston Marathon bombing the offender were not yet naturalized Americans that were angered by a failure to reach the American dream. The terrorists that crashed planes into American landmarks were bent on causing the most destruction due a hatred of everything American. In both cases innocent Americans that had nothing to do with what had angered these terrorists died including innocent children.
September 11, 2001 is one of those dates in time where Americans will always remember exactly where they were and the horror they felts as they watched planes begin to crash into American landmarks. After almost three thousand Americans died that day the government and law enforcement across the nation was alerted to a real and dangerous threat. As a result the Bush Administration immediately began to develop legislative responses to protect the nation. Some legislative responses even threatened the citizen’s civil liberties but due to the grave threat this legislation passed without a whimper about the loss of these rights.
Society recognized the need for legislation that was focused on the greater good of the nation over the civil rights of the citizen. The USA Patriot was enacted to broaden the investigatory power of the police in order to ensure potential ...

Human Trafficking in United States of America.
Human trafficking is among the Criminal activities that have been so common in most countries worldwide. Some of these countries suffer from the organized crimes by a group of gangsters. The fascinating thing is that majority of these criminal activities are observant with rational choicer theory and the conspiracy theory. By observing these theories imply that the organizers of the crime do it under their full conscience. Before they do the crime, they calculate the impacts of crime and find it more beneficial. They overlook the adverse effects to be outshined by the positive impact. Criminal cases take different nature; some may be due to robbery with violence. Some may be due to conning where the perpetrators of the criminal activity apply their witty character to get what they need from the victims. Human trafficking is one of the criminal activities that has since been ravaging the United States of America.
These criminal activities through human trafficking have impacted the concerned countries in several ways, for example, in the human rights aspect or financial aspect. Several countries, as a result, try as much as possible to combat such criminal cases. The concerned countries address these issues through the inaction of rules and laws that help tackle criminal cases. Others use religious intervention by preaching to people worldwide so that the criminals can change their minds and avoid involved in criminal activities.
This paper aims to address the crime topology of the human trafficking done by Ping in the United States of America. Under this, it will address the nature of people and the society in the country. In addition to that, it will address the structure of the government. The paper captures the scope of the organized crime of human trafficking, the impact of crime on the United States, policies that may help mitigate human trafficking crime, and finally, address the biblical allusion to the aspects of the organized crime above.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

2. POLITICAL SCIENCE 2
Downe Lawrence article begins by mobilizing immigrants to get ready for some harsh
experiences. He explains to immigrants that it has come to a time that has to accept and declare
themselves as a sanctuary. According to Trump unauthorized immigrants are vicious criminals
and have dangerous desirables. This led to the intimidation and arrest of immigrants. Downes
argues that the word sanctuary refers to the immigrant loving communities that facilitate
immigrant criminals roams freely. However, Downes maintains that here is a city that can do
away with the law or stay away from the federal government. However, cities should define
sanctuaries as locations that are stands for a reason during an unjust, overarching and lawless
federal enforcement. San example of the Sanctuary City is the Santa Ana city that is made up of
335, 000 people whose city council passed the most far-reaching and ordinance sanctuary
ordinances. Hence Santa is a mixed income, mixed race and members of its city council are
Latino.
Feldman’s article, Beyond Liminal Legality, begins by showing the arrest of 600
immigrants in a serious of actions that are nationally coordinated. Fieldman explains that Trump
made executive orders that called for increased in cooperation between federal immigration
enforcement and police as well as penalties for sanctuary jurisdictions limiting the cooperation.
Trumps immigration justice movement is directing most its energies towards the fight
deportations particularly via development as well as defense of sanctuary cities. According to
Elliot Young, the sanctuary city concept faces major risks without consistency in grassroots
mobilizations. According to Harvey, while regional resistances, struggle for local place bound
and local autonomy organization could be an excellent based for political action. A major key
demand for sanctuary cities had full refugee status for all individuals forced to get away from
Central America. This led to the development of the TPS in 199.
3. POLITICAL SCIENCE 3
In Blitzer Jonathan's article, The Hard-Liners Standing behind Trump against Sanctuary
Cities, he begins by giving a case of a woman who was short by an immigrant. However, the
federal government could not take the case since the City the woman is from is a sanctuary city.
Therefore, it was left to deal with the case. However, this case spurred great attention on the
cooperation of the local police and the federal government. Most anti-immigrants in the United
States are that undocumented immigrants pose a great danger to the safety of the American
community. However, organizations set aside to track death caused by undocumented aliens
have shown less effectiveness in their work and often accused of incompetence and corruption in
their roles.
In the three articles, Downes articles are well explained and elaborated hence easy to
understand compared to the other two articles. Downes explains what sanctuary cities are and
their major role in aiding and protecting employees. Additionally, he also shows why the
sanctuary cities are being challenged by Trump's government and the possibility of the success.
Additionally, he provides an example of a sanctuary city in which people live in harmony in
spite of the factor that they could be undocumented. Therefore, the most satisfactory argument
provided among the three articles is Downes article on A Sanctuary City seizes the moment and
the name. It is easy to understand and well developed by the author hence providing an easy flow
of ideas which one can easily understand.
