The document describes a series of shots that could make up the opening scene of a film. It establishes the protagonist entering his home exhausted and relaxing in his chair. Upon finding a note requesting more work, he goes to check his emails. However, an ominous error message appears on his computer screen, entrancing him until something throws him from his chair, leaving him unconscious. Upon waking, he realizes he has been transported to a parallel universe.
1. Trojan – opening scene shots
This is my production logo for my opening scene which
starts the opening scene and may give the viewer an
idea of what genre the opening scene will be before
they see it.
The first shot in the opening scene establishes the
scene and includes the titles, which allows the viewer
to see who is in the film, who has made and the film
and more importantly the title of the film.
The next shot is the protagonist entering the house,
with continuity editing between the outside to the inside
of the house to add a sense of realism. As he enters, it
is easy to see he is exhausted as shown by the
dropping of his bag and keys.
The next shot is the protagonist walking down the
hallway to the chair so that he can sit down and relax.
The next shot is the protagonist sitting in his chair and
then turning on the TV to see what is on. The
protagonist falls asleep and then awakens later in the
day.
The next shot is of the protagonist emptying his pockets
to reveal a note.
The protagonist throws the note away from him and
walks off.
The next shot is a close up shot of the note, it reveals
the message “check email, do paperwork!”, which
implies there is more work to do for the protagonist.
2. Trojan – opening scene shots
The protagonist gets up out of his chair and starts to
walk towardshis computer to check his emails and do
the work he has been assigned.
The protagonistwalks towards the fridge looking for
something to eat.
The protagonist opens the fridge looking for something
to eat, but after his day and even more work to come, he
is put off his appetite.
The protagonist arrives at his computer, ready to check
his emails for more work.
As he is checking his emails, an error message appears
that reads “DO NOT MOVE” in bright red letters.
The protagonist is entranced by the error
message and does not move. A quick series
of shots transition between the protagonist
and the error message which build up
tension.
The protagonist moves slightly and is then thrown out of
his chair, left unconscious.
The protagonist regains consciousness and looks up,
analysing his surroundings, realising that something has
happened – he has woken up in a parallel universe.
