Visit the web sites for three retailers and shop for a product. For example, If I
shopping for a pair of jeans, I would try to find similar jeans on all three sites. I
might view True Religion, J.Crew, & Levi because they offer similar product but
different target markets.
Compare the consumer experience across all three retail websites
 Website Features
 Design of Website
 Ease of website use
 What new technologies are present?
 Stylization of the merchandise
ONLINE RETAIL ANTHROPOLOGY
Analyze the overall social media presence of the retailers.
 What platforms do they use?
 Evaluate the consumer in this space (general social media demographics / pshychographics)
 Can you purchase from the social media page?
 How many followers? Average likes?
 Which retailer has the most success in different platforms?
Provide recommendations for the main retailer in the comparison:
 Outline new developments in e-commerce merchandising and apply them to the analysis
Focus on one type of retailing:
- Specialty Retailers
- Brands
- Department Stores
- Etc.
