Plan Canada travelled to India with corporate partner Olsen Europe to visit Sadhna – a Women’s Handicraft Enterprise supported by Plan, in part through Olsen’s Double Happiness limited-edition clothing line.

2. Sewing up success: Sadhna – funded in part by Plan and Olsen Europe – is a women’s handicraft enterprise that enables women to take care of their families and become financially independent.

3. Founding freedom: Gita, a founding member of Sadhna in her community, has helped many women find financial freedom.

4. A model business: More than 680 artisans are paid for piecework and share in the profits.

5. A hand up: Plan-funded projects, like this one, help women and communities become self-sufficient in a sustainable way.

6. Happy homeowners: Families now have homes to call their own thanks to profits made from work at Sadhna.

7. Crafted with love: Women use the craft of appliqué and running stitch embroidery on items from Olsen Europe’s Double Happiness clothing line, so each piece is unique.

8. Brighter futures: Economically empowered, the futures of these women – and their children – are forever changed.
