Making an Inquiry Letter
We write an inquiry letters when we want to ask for more information concerning a product, service or
other information about production or service that interest us.
They are often written in response to an advertisement.
The Characteristics are:
1. It begins with sender address. I.e. The Letter Head: This contain company address at the top of
the letter or the company’s letter head.
2. Receiver address: After the sender company’s letter head immediately follow by the address the
company you are writing to.
3. Date: Either be place double space down to the right.
4. Salutation: We may have Dear Sir/Madam or to whom it may concern.
5. Reference: With reference to your advertisements {ad}, the advertisement of receive company.
6. Body Or Requesting: And immediately the reference add a comma and
continue…………………would (could) you please send me……………….
7. Compliment Close: This is done by saying ‘yours faithfully’ since you did not know the person to
whom you are written to.
8. Signature: Full name with the title of yours in your company.
