Hurricanes SC won the GFA Premier League title for the first time in 7 years after defeating Queens Park Rangers 2-0 on the final day of the season. Their victory, combined with nearest rivals Paradise FC defeating Chantimelle 3-0, pushed Hurricanes to 38 points and one point ahead of Paradise to clinch the championship. For Paradise, goals from Travis Rennie, Sydney Hosten, and Neil Rennie secured their victory. Hurricanes and Paradise will now compete in the upcoming GFA Super 8 League in December.
1. Hurricanes SC Back at the Top after 7 Years

Hurricanes SC has one again shown that they have what is takes to make it to the
top of top flight football in Grenada.
The St. Marks team secured the majority points on Saturday to be crowned
champions of the GFA premier League 2015 after a dry spell of seven years.
Hurricanes blew away Queens Park Rangers at Beausejour to win their final
Premier League match 2- nil. The victory pushed Hurricanes to 38 points, one point
ahead of nearest rivals Paradise FC who won convincingly against Chantimelle 3-
nil.
Scoring for Hurricanes was Ryan Alexander early in the game (9th
minute), then
Moran Phillip found the net in the 53rd
.
For Paradise it was the younger set of players doing the damage. Travis Rennie
converted in the 60th minute while Sydney Hosten and Neil Rennie netted in at the
71st
and 81st
minutes.
Boca Juniors had to settle for the third spot, beaten by St John’s Sports 2-1 at the
Cuthbert Peters Park. National player Kimo Sampson and Donelle Brathwaite
converted in the 67th and 70th minutes respectively for SJS while Marcus Julien,
another national player, was on target from the penalty spot in 89th minute for
Boca Juniors.
Over at Plains, it was a tough battle between Fontenoy United and Hard Rock.
However, Fontenoy prevailed 3-2. Ruel Andrews was brilliant, finding the net
twice in the 42nd
and 50th
minutes and Joel Greenidge sealed the deal in the 62nd
minute. For Hard Rock, both Demron Daniel and Camilo Mark converted.
In the final match of the day GBSS won by default against a relegated Hampshire
United who did not show up at Tanteen.
Fontenoy will have to overcome a home and away playoff with Police, the third
placed finisher in the First Division, if they wish to remain in the Premier League.
Hurricanes SC have already secured its place in the GFA Super 8 League carded
for December.
