The 2016 opening of the Grenada Football Association (GFA) Season was postponed from its scheduled date of Saturday May 21st at the National Stadium. A double header match between the 2015 Premier League winners and first division winners, and between the Premier League runners-up and first division runners-up, was postponed due to circumstances beyond the GFA's control. A meeting will be held on May 23rd to set a new opening date. This year, the GFA aims to play Premier League matches in enclosed venues to boost revenue.
