Abigail Higgs discusses several activities and roles that contribute to her sense of occupational identity. She finds a sense of satisfaction in helping others through acting as a buddy for individuals with disabilities. Skiing is closely tied to where she comes from and belongs as she went skiing weekly near Mount Ruapehu where she lives. Competitive swimming and other aquatic activities have been a large part of her life and connect her to communities. Leaving home to study allowed her to become more independent. She is able to be a role model and friend to her two younger sisters. Cooking and baking are ways she expresses herself and shares with family and friends.
