What is Nursing Home Abuse?
 If a resident in a nursing home develops pressure sores or ulcers, this is a
sign of neglect. Often residents are frail and bedridden with limited
movement. It’s the job of nursing home employees to frequently and gently
move their patients from one side to another to avoid bed sores. The
reason why bed sores are dangerous is because if left untreated, they can

one is at risk for sepsis and other infections that could lead to death.
 If a resident sustains an injury resulting in the need for emergency room
treatment or hospitalization and doesn’t receive it in a timely fashion, your

sedation, i.e. maintaining a safe environment for the sedated resident,
frequent laboratory screening to assure that toxic levels of medication do
not exist and physical monitoring of the resident for medication side effects
(loss of appetite, difficulty in urination, constipation, etc.) Resident
