The Board of Nursing passed Resolution No. 220 to promulgate and adopt a new Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses. The Code of Ethics was formulated based on consultation with nursing organizations and in accordance with existing laws. It establishes ethical principles and guidelines for nurses in their practice, relationships with patients and colleagues, and obligations to society and the profession. The Board can suspend or revoke the license of nurses who violate the provisions of the new Code of Ethics.
