The Norwegian Arctic Race is an annual multi-stage cycling race that takes place in Norway's Arctic region each February. The race was founded in 2013 by former professional cyclist and Norwegian national team rider Stein Olav Snesrud as a way to promote winter cycling and showcase the natural beauty of Norway's northernmost regions during the winter months. Stages of the race pass through scenic but challenging terrain such as mountain passes, coastal roads, and fjords in the provinces of Nordland, Troms and Finnmark where temperatures often dip below freezing.
